It is very conveniently connected with roads, air, and train. The last train station is Kathgodam from where a mesmerizing bus ride of 2 hours through beautiful landscapes and hilly twists and turns will land one at this mystical hill station. Mukteshwar is a late entrant in the list of exotic destinations. It is a calming place to relax and unwind with friends while lazily watching the faraway peaks of Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, and Panchauli. One can also indulge in adventure sports like ziplining, rock climbing, and rappelling. This secluded breezy spot offers a panoramic view of the Himalayan mountain range and the lush green Kumaon valley. It is an ideal spot for photoholics, nature lovers, and adventure seekers. Another famous spot frequented by tourists is the Inspection Bungalow which is located at the heart of the town. This beautiful architecture is covered with greenery and provides a clear view of the Nanda Devi mountain peak. Set amid cedar trees is the red-colored Methodist Church is more than 100 years old. It has beautiful stained glasses and is best visited during the evening when the sun sets and everything is bathed in a tinge of orangey hue. Located about 10 km from the town is an amazing waterfall named Bhalu Gad waterfall which has to be reached through a short beautiful trek of 2 km through dense forest. Ramgarh and Peora are two beautiful hamlets that are worth a visit due to their unspoiled natural beauty and fruit orchards.
A short trip to Mukteshwar from Delhi on the weekend will make one energized, fresh, and invigorated and will leave one with bags full of memories to reminisce about for years to come.
