Located at a phenomenal height of 6861 meters, Nanda Kot is a mountain peak of the Himalayan Range located in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. The name Nanda Kot means Nanda’s fortress. Mythologically, it is the abode of one of the forms of Goddess Parvati. The PWD inspection bungalow at Mukhteswar offers a soul-stirring view of Nanda Kot. One can view it easily with naked eye in favorable weather conditions, though the powerful telescopes installed at the garden provides a closer and clearer view. There is a view guide near the telescopes which helps in tracking the peaks easily. For a more thrilling look, one can join the camping expeditions around Mukhteswar that promises great view of Nanda Kot and other peaks.
