Ramgarh is a quintessential hamlet which is located 17 kilometers from Mukhteswar. It is a hidden gem as not many people visit this beautiful place. It is known as the fruit bowl of Kumaon because of the abundance of fruit orchards. Its apple, apricot, peach, and pears are renowned and are of export quality. It was a cantonment town of the erstwhile British rulers.
Ramgarh offers splendid views of the snow laden mountain tops of the Himalayas and the verdant lush valley. Noble laurate Rabindranath Tagore to spent time amidst the reposeful surrounding of the place and it is recorded that he made some of his compositions during his stay here. Ramgarh is ideal for bird watching, nature walks, and trekking.
